My New Year’s Eve Wedding

Last year I married my boyfriend 🙂 We had an intimate ceremony at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Radnor with family and friends. My brother Colin from Merryweather Films did the videography, and he is also featured here doing his very manly duties of fixing my train as my Man of Honor. This photo is thanks to our photographer Marie Labbancz who did a wonderful job. (hair and make up by the one and only Beke Beau)

In honor of my Opa, I chose orchids for my bouquet which were his very favorite. Underneath them were garden roses, and Italian ruscus for my Italian husband.

My darling daughter and niece were two of my flower girls, carrying a little posy and each with a flower crown. Here they are sitting in front of a flower wall my mother and I made of roses and hydrangea. (dresses are from the Wedding Shoppe in Wayne, as was my dress)

Our centerpieces were tulips, in honor of my dutch roots, and long trailing orchids again in memory of my Opa. Mirrored tables, clear chiavari chairs, tall crystal candle sticks, and lots of cool table top design added a lot of sparkle and reflection. Our event designer, Christopher Carlson, was able to create a floorpan full of gorgeous details,  that elevated the experience of the ballroom at St. Davids Golf Club to something completely new, fresh and one of a kind. It was intimate party of 160 guests, where everyone had a personal and inviting place to eat, mingle and sit on couches surrounding our custom striped dance floor and enjoy the sounds of our swing band, the Blue Vipers.

Nothing to do with my flowers, but very necessary to mention was this amazing creation by our friend Joseph Amrani at Delice et Chocolat of Ardmore, our beloved croquembouche. Nothing quite says its party time like this beautiful tower from heaven!!

Laura and Jonathan’s Wedding at Pomme

We love a wedding with personal touches, and Lauren’s wedding was nothing short of that. From the Brides bouquet to the chuppah, the place card “arbor”, and the table favors, the night was certainly one to remember.

Image

The Bride had some of her family members paint on strips of silk, that were later sewn together and this was used for the cloth covering for our birch chuppah. The beautiful pastel colors lent themselves wonderfully to the colors already in the space. Pomme has a light and airy, clean and modern feel to it as is, and the chuppah just built on that already existing vibe.

The above image is of the Brides creative way of displaying her place cards. Hanging from clothes pins and string, the guests came and looked for their name on a maple leaf. After this whimsical use of the arbor, it was more practically used in the garden of the newly weds new home.

Each small glass bottle was hand painted by family with their signature Wedding color, Tiffany blue.

Special mercury glass pieces, collected by the family, were used to decorate the fireplace in the reception area and make it more inviting.

Image

Each centerpiece was a potted phalaenopsis orchid plant in a wire footed urn and filled with green moss. The center pieces were donated by the family to nursing homes in the area.

Finally a photo of the Brides bouquet. Salmon roses, white ranunculus and special greens were finished off with ivory satin ribbon and pearls from the Brides Grandmother.

Nothing Says Summer Like Sunflowers!

This Bride Loves Sunflowers. And I have to agree, there is something wonderful about the big, bright, and beautiful heads of Sunflowers that just makes me smile.

For her bouquet she picked the more traditional white flower bouquet of roses and gardenias. And a gardenia was used for the Groom so they would match 🙂

How fun and fresh is this Bridesmaids bouquet? Yellow centered sunflowers are so special, and with some billy balls and greens thrown in you have a bouquet that no one will forget!

For the Groomsmen and the Bridesmaids to look just perfect together we made these funky little boutonnieres.

For the ceremony you want all of the guests to have their breath taken away, this moment sets the stage for the rest of the day. For the perfect sunflower wedding, we chose to tie these gorgeous sunflowers to the pews with bark wire, for a very rustic look.

The place card table was stunning with these yellow place cards, and grey silver pin tuck tablecloth.

For the cocktail table we decided on these arrangements, of small sunflowers, billy balls, galax leaves, and pieces of solidago in a glass lined with aspidistra.

One thing about the Phoenixville Foundry that we love, is that the space is huge, the ceilings are tall and provide ample space for the biggest arrangements you could possible dream up, or drag through the doorway. So we brought in the tallest curly willow we could find for the place card table, and for the buffet table. Pairing the tall curly willow with gorgeous sunflowers and hanging votives gave a very impressive look.

I hope you like the centerpieces as much as we do! Love the silver tablecloths and chiavari chairs, they are like a blank canvas for our lively and bright sunflower arrangements!!!

Bright and Beautiful Summer Wedding

Emily and Adam were married in July. Its a great time of year to bring out the color of the season! Flowers are in abundance this time of year, so why not have a bright melange!

There ceremony was at the lovely Washington Memorial Chapel. Located in Valley Forge National Park.

We love this stylized photo of the couple. Reminds me of the Grant Wood painting, American Gothic.

Photos are courtesy of Sophia Negron. We love her photographs, and always enjoy working with her.

One of our favorites, is the flower pomander ball for the really young flower girls, its easy and fun, and looks fabulous!

We love to add a little special something into our boutonnieres, here we used some trimmings from our garden 🙂

Love the colors of the arrangements. A fabulous way to brighten up a party!

For the cocktail tables, we used pops of pink and green, with a gerbera daisy and some wheat grass. Looked fabulous on the tiffany blue linens.

The pomander ball for the flower girl gets repeated in this place card table arrangement.

Their reception was help at the Phoenixville Foundry. It’s an awesome modernized vintage building, formerly a mill, its been updated to have first class appeal.

Anne and Steve’s Romantic Country Club Wedding

Now is the time to start planning weddings for the up coming wedding season. We are getting calls for the prime dates in the summer, and have a lot of Brides looking for white flowers with greens for a more classic wedding look. So, here is a wedding for a little inspiration for this style of Wedding.

Anne and Steve’s Wedding was a favorite for us. They were married at St. Thomas of Villanova and had their reception at Saint Davids Golf Club. Anne chose calla lilies and roses with a touch of hydrangea for her bridal bouquet.

Karen & Tony say their “I Do’s”.

Like our last story this Bride and Groom chose Wayne Presbyterian Church for their Wedding Ceremony. She chose all white flowers for her bouquet, white roses, white calla lilies, white hydrangea, and the very special white clooney peony.

Her Bridesmaids wore a beautiful coral colored dress and carried peach roses, ivory freesia, and green hydrangea in perfectly hand tied bouquet.

Their reception was held at Montrose Mansion at Villanova Conference Center. She chose to have half of her table with tall arrangements, and half with low arrangements. For the tall arrangement we decorated our iron trees with hanging votives, and three hanging floral pomander balls in her color scheme of peach, pink, green, and ivory.

The low table arrangement was a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from her color palate, accompanied by our three tiered candle sticks with three floating candles. All of the tables had gold chiavari chairs.

Heather & Tim Tie the Knot

The wedding ceremony was at the beautiful Wayne Presbyterian, this was the Church I grew up in so I may be a little biased! Either way it’s a lovely sanctuary where this wonderful couple were married in May. This was our beautiful Bride Heather with her Bridal Bouquet. She chose purples, blues and different shades of green to be the colors for her flowers, she loves peacock feathers, which we incorporated into her bouquet for her. Cymbidium orchids were the central focal flowers which provided that bright green pop in this asymmetrical arrangement. (see below)

Our bridesmaids were given huge hand tied arrangements of antique green hydrangea.
Heather and Tim had their Reception at the renowned Aronimink Golf Club. Along the same vein of our “oversized” bridesmaids bouquets, is this awesome cocktail table arrangement.
